Linked Job Improvements

Written by Julia Leake

TLDR

When you record a successful attempt across related jobs at the same address, the app now walks through each job separately — so you can capture the right details for each one without re-entering information you've already provided. Select who you served once, and the app carries the name forward and pre-fills the service method based on your answers. Less manual entry, fewer corrections after the fact.

What's new

The old flow stamped the same attempt data across every related job at the same address — including fields that have to be different per job, such as Method of Service. One person usually accepts service for all of them, but their relationship to each named servee isn't the same, and that difference matters for how the serve gets recorded.

The app now reflects that. Each related job gets its own card, the service method pre-fills based on your answers, and you only type a name once.

How to use

Step 1 — Select who you served

At the "Who did you serve?" step, the app shows everyone named across your same-address jobs, plus any listed Registered Agent. Tap a name to select it, and the app carries it forward automatically.

If the person isn't listed, choose New Contact and type the name once — it pre-fills everywhere

Step 2 — Complete each job card

You'll see a card for each job. Each card asks:

  • Who is this person in relation to this job? (e.g. Named Individual, Spouse, Director of Operations, etc.)

  • How were they served? — the app pre-selects the most likely option based on your answer above

Review each card and adjust if needed. Physical description is entered once at the bottom and shared across all jobs.

Step 3 — Submit

Each job records its own attempt with the details you entered.

Registered Agent jobs

If you selected a Business or Registered Agent address type and a Registered Agent name is listed on the job, you'll see it as an option in the selection list. Before the list appears, the app asks one question first:

"Did you serve a Registered Agent Company Representative?"

Answer based on who actually received the documents:

  • Yes — the person you served works at a registered agent company (CT Corp, CSC, Secretary of State's office, etc.). You'll enter their full name manually, select their title, and choose the RA company from a dropdown. Service method auto-selects as Registered Agent.

  • No — the person listed as the RA is an individual, not at a company. Their name pre-fills from your selection. The title you choose next determines the service method.

On a linked job stack, the answer is almost always No — the RA is typically a named individual.

The entity job card asks for the title of the person served and auto-fills the service method from there. If a company name is required, you'll see a dropdown (CT Corp / CSC / Secretary of State / Other).

The individual job card shows who you served (read-only, carried forward from your earlier selection) and asks for their relation to the named servee on that job. If the person you served is the same individual named on this job, select Self — the app maps this to Personal service automatically.

When is company name required?

Company name is required whenever the service method maps to Registered Agent. If the job has an entity servee, that entity's name will appear as an option in the dropdown — select it if the RA is employed by that entity. Otherwise, choose from the dropdown or select Other to enter the name of the company they work for.

What if the RA name matches someone listed on another job in the stack?

You'll see two separate options in the selection list — one for the named servee on the individual job, and one for the Registered Agent associated with the entity job (if the client provided that name when the job was set up). Either is correct — if you served this person and they're listed as the RA, both jobs can be recorded accurately regardless of which you pick first.

  • Select the RA option → the entity job resolves first. You'll complete the individual job's card separately. On that card, select Self for relation to servee to map it to Personal service.

  • Select their name → the individual job resolves first. You'll complete the entity job's card separately.

Each job card has to be reviewed and submitted on its own — selecting a name doesn't automatically resolve all jobs in the stack.

Things to keep in mind

  • Start from the primary job. Open the primary job to see the option to record across all same-address jobs. Starting from a related job won't show this option.

  • Service method is pre-filled, not locked. You can update any pre-selected option before submitting.

  • Check jurisdiction requirements. The app doesn't validate whether a specific service method is permitted in your state — if you're unsure, check your state's requirements or contact support before submitting.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if the person I served isn't listed?

Tap New Contact and type the name once — it carries forward to all job cards.

The Registered Agent isn't showing in the selection list. Why?

The RA option only appears when a Registered Agent name was provided when the job was set up. If none was listed, it won't appear — that's expected.

I see the same name twice in the selection list — once as a servee and once as the Registered Agent. Which do I pick?

Either works — see the "What if the RA name matches someone listed on another job" section above for how each path plays out.

What does "Self" mean in the relation to servee dropdown?

It means the person you served is the same individual named on that job. Selecting “Self” maps the job to Personal service. It appears on an individual job card when the person you selected globally (like an RA name) isn't that job's named servee.

Do I need to enter a company name for every RA serve?

Whenever the service method maps to Registered Agent, yes. If the person you served works for the entity named on the job, select that entity from the dropdown. If the RA works for a different company, choose from the list or select Other to enter it manually.

Do I fill out physical description for each job?

No — enter it once at the bottom and it applies to all jobs.
