Dispossessory jobs are time-sensitive and must be completed within 4 days. Follow the steps below exactly to avoid delays for the client.

How Dispossessory jobs are assigned

Dispossessory jobs are auto-assigned. You won’t receive a notification—new jobs will simply appear in your Jobs list in the Proof app.

☑ Before you go: printing + prep checklist

🖨️ Print requirements

For each job, you will receive two sets of documents:

  • Named Tenant

  • All Other Occupants

You must print:

  • 2 copies of each set (so 4 total printouts per job)

    • 1 copy for posting

    • 1 copy for mailing + affidavit/notary

⚠️ Plan ahead for printing delays

These jobs are often sent in bulk in concentrated areas, and print shops (like FedEx Office) may have delays. Build in extra time so you still meet the 4-day turnaround.

📍 Route planning tip

Use Address Export to optimize your route:
From the Map View screen in your Jobs tab:

  1. Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner

  2. Select “Export Addresses”

  3. Choose your preferred file format:

📋 Step-by-step: completing the service

1) Go to the address listed on the documents

  • If the address is bad or missing an apartment number:

    • Record an unsuccessful attempt

    • Flag as “Bad Address”

    • Do not alter the address (you must not change what’s printed on the documents)

2) Date the documents (required)

Each set of documents must be dated with:

  • The service date (the date you post on the door), and

  • The tenant response date (7 days from posting)

🗓️ Make sure the dates are correct before you post and before you mail.

3) Post on the door

  1. You must post the documents on the door even if the resident is willing to accept them.

  2. Post both sets (Tenant + All Other Occupants).

  3. Tape each set side-by-side on the door (so they’re clearly visible).

📌 Important rules

  • Do not post in an envelope.

  • You must take a photo of the posted documents on the door.

4) Notarize the documents (same day)

Before mailing, you must have the documents notarized.

  • Ensure the Notary Public signs and dates the document next to their stamp or on the provided signature/date line.

✍️ In some cases, there is no specific line for the Notary to date. In these cases, make sure that the Notary dates next to their stamp.

5) Mail the documents (same day as posting)

  • Mail via First-Class Mail

  • Must be mailed the same day you post (after notarization)

📄 Submitting affidavits: what to double-check

Before submitting, confirm:

  • Posting photo is included (posted on the door, clearly visible)

  • Docs were posted (not personally served) even if resident accepted

  • Service date is correct on each set

  • Response date is 7 days from posting and correctly written

  • Notary stamp + notary signature + notary date are all present

  • Name and address match the documents exactly (no edits)

💡 Common issues

The resident offers to accept the documents

- You still must post on the door and photograph the posting.

The apartment number is missing / address seems wrong

- Do an unsuccessful attempt and flag Bad Address. Do not change the address on the documents.

Printing is taking too long

  • These jobs are deadline-driven (4 days). Plan print time into your route and try to print early to avoid shop delays.

These jobs are highly time-sensitive, and the 4-day turnaround is critical for the client. If you run into any issues (printing delays, access problems, missing unit numbers, or safety concerns), document everything in the app and flag the job immediately so we can help resolve it fast.
