What is Adobe Scan?
Courts have rejected poor-quality PDF files made from mobile scanning apps, particularly if the page size is not exactly 8.5” x 11”.
Proof is recommending the free Adobe Scan mobile scanning app in those jurisdictions to create consistent, high-quality PDF files that meet court requirements.

To quickly scan a document in auto-capture mode:
Open the app and wait for the capture.
Once the app captures the document, tap on the thumbnail to view and/or edit your scan.
To scan a document from the capture window:
Open the app and tap
Select the document type.
Optionally, tap the to change flash settings.
Invoke a scan using one of the following capture modes:
Auto-capture (default): The app displays the capture screen and detects the document. In auto-capture mode, the app uses live edge boundary detection that displays blue dots to identify document corners.
Manual-capture: Center the document in window and tap the capture button.
Follow the on-screen messages to complete the scan workflow:
Looking for document: The app is looking for the document and trying to detect its boundaries.
Capturing… hold steady: Edge detection can see the entire document.
No document found. Capture manually: The app cannot detect the document edges.
The app uses auto-crop and image cleaning to improve scan quality. The captured scan appears on the screen.
On the captured scan screen, tap Adjust and save to modify your scan as desired.
Optionally, tap Keep scanning to continue capturing more documents or tap Retake to recapture the document if you are not satisfied with your current capture.
Once you tap Save as PDF, the scan is automatically saved to the Document Cloud.

It is very important to crop all background out of your scan. While the auto-crop is very good, it is not foolproof. When you preview your scan if you see any background, please make sure you adjust the crop to remove it.
When you’re finished scanning, tap the thumbnail in the lower right-hand corner to open the Review screen. Here, you can modify your scan using the edit toolbar at the bottom and save your scan as PDF.
Navigate to the page that you want to modify. You can use the forward and back arrows to navigate to other pages.

Drag the crop handles to readjust the borders of your scan.
Optionally, you can:
Tap Auto-Detect to let the app automatically position the crop borders.
Tap No Crop to set the crop points to the four corners of the image, thus showing the full image.
Tap Rotate to rotate the scan before or after cropping.

Use the crop magnifier: The app provides a crop magnifier to help you precisely place border corners. To use it, press any corner crop handle. The magnifier automatically shows a zoomed in view of the current location.

All pages must be saved as US Letter Portrait. Any Landscape pages you may have should be rotated first (see above)

Navigate to the page that you want to resize.
Resize the page. Repeat this step for any page.

Once you’re satisfied with the scan, you can rename the file and save the PDF. Tap Save PDF to automatically convert your scan to a PDF and upload to Adobe cloud storage.

When you save a scan, it automatically uploads to Adobe cloud storage. To save a copy on your device:
From the list of all scans or recent scans, tap against the file that you want to copy.
Tap Copy to device.
You can also share a link to the document via email, or send the document to yourself as a PDF to quickly locate it for upload to the Proof Platform.

To share file copies:
From the recent scans or all scans view, tap Share for any file.
Tap Share a copy.
Choose one of the ways to share a copy, and complete the workflow.
Note - You can also select multiple files from the all scans view. To do so, either long press any file or tap > Select multiple items.

You can easily email your scans as links or attachments directly from the app. To do so:
From the recent scans view, tap Share for any file.
Alternatively, from the all scans view, tap >Share for any file.
Tap Email.
In the dialog that opens, select one of the following sharing options:
Email link
Email attachment
Choose an email app on your device, and complete the workflow.
The scan link or attachment that you share via email can be viewed as a regular PDF file in case the receiver does not have the Scan app installed.
How to Upload Your Affidavit
You can use either of the options below to upload your scanned affidavit to the appropriate job.

Select the job in your Proof mobile app, and open the drop-down menu in the top right corner. You can choose to print the affidavit at FedEx via the app, or, you can download the affidavit to your mobile device.
Once the affidavit has been notarized, clearly scan and save it as a PDF document to your mobile device.
Select the job again in your Proof mobile app. Under the server name, click on the “Upload Affidavit” button. Select your saved PDF and submit.

Open the email from Proof that contains the affidavit. This file will be a PDF document, which you can download to your computer or mobile device.
There is a link in that email - please click this link, and it will bring you to the correct page (on the Proof website) to upload the affidavit as a PDF file once it has been notarized.
***If you are doing this on your computer, you’ll need to save the .pdf file of the notarized affidavit to your computer first.
***If the email link is unavailable or does not work, you can manually (on a web browser) go to www.proofserve.com, sign in to your account, look under “My Jobs” and click on the job you want to upload the affidavit for.At the top of the job page, you will see a button that says “UPLOAD NOTARIZED AFFIDAVIT". Click that button and you’ll be able to browse your files. Select the correct file and upload the notarized affidavit (PDF format).
