Chat Reactions let you acknowledge a message in the In-Job Chat without typing a reply. React to a message, and it appears as a small chip below the message for everyone in the chat to see.
How to Add a Reaction
Long-press any message bubble in the Chat tab to bring it into focus.
A row of five options appears: 👍 ✅ 👀 🙌 and a custom "thank you" icon.
Tap the one that fits. The reaction is added immediately, and the selector closes.
To cancel without reacting, tap the blurred background outside the selector.
Viewing & Removing Reactions
When a message has one or more reactions, small count chips appear below it — one chip per emoji type, showing how many people reacted with it.
Tap a chip you've already used to remove your reaction.
Tap a chip you haven't used to add yours to it.
Seeing Who Reacted
Long-press any reaction chip to open a sheet listing everyone who reacted to that message, along with their name and organization. Proof team and Client contacts show their organization.
The sheet includes everyone who reacted with any emoji on that message — not just the chip you long-pressed. If the list is long, scroll or expand the sheet to see everyone. Dismiss the sheet to return to the chat without making any changes.
How Reactions Show Up on Your Job Cards
Reactions don't trigger a push notification. Instead:
If a job has an unread reaction only, you'll see an "Unread Reaction" badge on that job card in My Jobs the next time you open the app.
If a job also has an unread chat message, only the "Unread Chats" badge appears — unread messages always take priority in the badge display.
Opening the chat clears the badge, whether it was for a message, a reaction, or both.
The Unread Chats filter in My Jobs surfaces jobs with unread reactions too, so nothing slips through. Within that filtered list, jobs with unread messages sort above jobs with only unread reactions.
How Reactions Show Up in the Action Center
The Action Center — where you check unread chat activity before heading out — includes reactions alongside messages:
Only unread reactions: "X jobs with unread reactions" — "See who reacted to your updates before your next move."
Only unread messages: "X jobs with unread chats" — "Catch up before your next move."
Both unread messages and reactions: "X jobs with unread chats" — "Catch up before your next move and see who reacted to your updates." (A job with both only counts once toward the total.)
Nothing unread: the Unread Chats item doesn't appear at all.
Tapping the Action Center item takes you directly to My Jobs with the Unread Chats filter already applied, showing every job with an unread message and/or reaction.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do reactions send a notification?
No. Reactions do not trigger a push notification to you. They surface as badges on job cards and in the Action Center instead.
📌 Note - The client and Proof Specialist will receive a notification when you react to a message.
Can I remove a reaction after adding it?
Yes. Tap the reaction chip you added to remove it.
Can I see who reacted to a message?
Yes. Long-press the reaction chip on any message to see everyone who reacted and their organization (if applicable).
What if a job has both an unread message and an unread reaction?
The job card will show the "Unread Chats" badge only — unread messages take priority in the display, but the Unread Chats filter will still surface the job.
