Proof offers a free Remote Online Notary (RON) service to help you notarize affidavits quickly and conveniently. Our in-house RON team uses Notarize with Proof as our notarization platform.
๐ฌ How to Request a Notary Session
To get started, email amber@proofserve.com with your request and a preferred time frame that works for you. A Proof RON will follow up to coordinate a time to connect.
When sending your request, please include:
The affidavits or documents you need notarized
Your preferred time frame
Whether the job is same-day, rush, or expedited โ these are prioritized and handled as rush requests
๐ Sessions are processed in the order received. Requests for Same Day and Expedited jobs are prioritized in the queue.
โฑ๏ธ Response Times
Standard requests: follow-up within 24โ48 hours
Same-day / Rush / Expedited: follow-up within 24 hours
Later evenings, weekends, and holidays: availability varies โ contact amber@proofserve.com to confirm
Hours of operation: 9:30am โ 7:30pm MT, MondayโFriday
๐ What to Have Ready
Before your session, make sure you have:
A valid government-issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, etc.)
Your Social Security Number (SSN) or ITIN
A device with a working camera and microphone
๐ชช Identity Verification
During your session you'll complete Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA), which includes:
Answering 5 personal verification questions
Uploading a copy of your photo ID
๐ Connecting to Your Session
Once your session is prepared, the Proof RON will send you an invite. There are two ways you may connect:
1๏ธโฃ Option 1 โ Proof-Prepared Session (Standard)
Open your invitation email from noreply@proof.com
Click "Sign Documents Now"
Log in to your Proof account, or create one if you're new to the platform
Review all pages of your documents using the "Next document" button, then click "Continue"
Complete the identity verification steps (see below)
Set up your camera and audio โ you may need to allow permissions in your browser or device settings
Join the live video session with your Proof RON and sign your documents
2๏ธโฃ Option 2 โ Easylink (For Multiple Affidavits)
If you have a larger number of affidavits, your Proof RON will send you an Easylink to upload your documents directly. Once uploaded, wait for your RON to follow up and confirm your connection time. You can save your Easylink for future sessions โ it will go directly to your RON's board.
๐ The session time shown in your invite is a placeholder. Your Proof RON will confirm the actual time with you directly.
โ After Your Session
Once your notary session is complete, you'll receive an email from Notarize with Proof containing your notarized document(s). It is your responsibility to download and upload each completed affidavit to the correct job in your Proof account โ this is required to close the job out and generate your payment.
๐ If you had multiple affidavits notarized, your documents will arrive in a .zip file. You'll need to extract the individual files before uploading. See the instructions below.

๐ How to Open a .zip File
On a Computer (Windows or Mac)
Windows: Right-click the .zip file and select "Extract All", choose a destination folder, and click Extract
Mac: Double-click the .zip file โ it will automatically extract into a folder in the same location
On iPhone / iPad (iOS)
No additional apps needed. Open the Files app, locate the .zip file, and tap it โ iOS will automatically extract the contents into a new folder in the same location. You can then open the folder and access your individual documents.
On Android
Use Files by Google (free, pre-installed on most Android devices):
Open the Files by Google app
Navigate to the folder containing the .zip file
Tap the file, then tap Extract
The extracted files will be saved in the same folder as the original .zip
๐ Important Notes
RON services are only available for Proof documents.
Georgia court cases require a wet ink signature and must be completed with an in-person notary. RON is not available for Georgia court cases.
