One Job Per Service
It is important to note that at Proof, each person we attempt to serve documents to is considered one job or one serve. And with that service, we will provide one affidavit.
If multiple affidavits are required or if the job has multiple defendants or individuals to serve, we require that multiple serves be created on the platform to accommodate them.
Each job or serve will carry a full address fee.
During Serve Creation
To facilitate this, while on the Proof platform, you can create multiple serves at once by selecting New Serve. After you have uploaded all of your documents for service, the Proof autofill feature will detect all parties that may need to be served.
Any party that is not selected here will not be included for service. In this example, 3 of 4 parties were added.
After selecting the yellow Next button, you will be prompted to enter the servee and court details. Each Servee will be given a number, and Proof will generate a service for each individual or business for whom you need an affidavit of service.
After the serves are submitted, each serve will include a Serve ID number that appears in the Serves Table.
What if I want to link these serves together because they are going to the same address?
Linking the serves is critical if you need them to go to the same address. If they are not linked, the same process server may not pick up the correct jobs, which could mean some servees are not served at the same time/a different server has one of the serves. Since each servee is considered its own service, you may see different pricing depending on the address selected for each servee.
If any of the servees has a different address than the others, this will break any linked serves, and it will be treated as if it were created on its own. This can result in one or more of the serves being assigned to a different process server, and the serves will not be attempted at the same time.
Please note: Each servee is considered a separate service on the Proof platform. You will pay the full address fee for each servee. Proof will provide a separate affidavit for each servee.
