The attorneys at my law firm want to use different credit cards for their service of process charges. Is this possible?

Payment Methods

Written by Kimi Springsteen

Yes, an account can have more than one credit card attached. Each user can have distinct payment methods. There are also ways to share one payment method with others in the firm, or, on the flip side, remove the ability to share a card already on the platform.

Each user on a firm account can set up a separate credit card to choose from for payments.

The user adding a new payment method will log into the Proof platform and click on Billing under the Workspace section. These options are on the left side of the platform.

  • Next, the user will select Payment Methods from the upper menu.

  • Click the yellow “Add Payment Method” button.

  • Fill in the fields with the credit card information.

Please be mindful that any new card can be set as the primary payment method. If this box is not ticked, it will not be the primary card. You can also share that payment method with other members of the firm by selecting the "Share with Firm" button. You can do the same to edit an existing card and either make it the primary payment method or remove the ability to share it with the firm.

The label simply works as the card's name for easy identification when you're submitting a serve. The payment method will always default to the primary card; however, you can select a different payment method before submitting the service when creating it.

If you need to update a payment method, such as edit one to make it the primary, share it with the firm, or remove it from the platform, please refer to the article link below.
