At Proof, we’re committed to providing reliable and transparent service details so you know exactly what to expect from the rigorously-vetted process servers within our network.

How Service Timelines Are Determined

When a job is accepted by a process server, the due date is calculated based on the acceptance time and the specific turnaround time for that job type. To ensure the process server has the full time allotted based on the job speed you select, service timelines are structured as follows:

Jobs Accepted Before Cutoff Times

  • Jobs accepted before the designated cutoff times will have their due dates calculated from the time of acceptance by server.

Acceptance Cutoff Times & Service Start Timing

  • Same-Day Jobs: If a job is accepted after 2 PM local time, the service timer starts at 8 AM the next calendar day.

  • All Other Jobs: If a job is accepted after 5 PM local time, the service timer starts at 8 AM the next calendar day.

Note: The listed cutoff times are based on the local time of the service address provided.

Example Scenarios

  • A Standard Job accepted at 1 PM on Monday → service timer begins immediately at 1 PM on Monday.

  • A Same-Day Job accepted at 3 PM on Wednesday → service timer begins at 8 AM on Thursday (since it was after the 2 PM cutoff)

What This Means for You

  • The “Time Remaining” displayed on your job is calculated to give the process server the full window needed to complete service within the time frame associated with the job speed you selected.

  • Jobs accepted after the cutoff times listed will have their timers start at 8 AM the next calendar day, ensuring they receive the full allotted time.

  • You can track your job’s progress and time remaining by viewing your job on our platform.

Disclaimer: Final attempt timing may be delayed due to factors like weather, multiple addresses, rural locations, coordination with a local sheriff, or other circumstances outside of the server’s or Proof’s control. Proof and the server will use job chat to coordinate if any unexpected issues come up.
