At Proof, we take extra care to ensure compliance with Missouri’s Motion & Order (M&O) requirements. These rules govern whether a process server must be formally appointed by the court before service can begin. Below is an overview of how our team handles M/O flagged jobs, so you know exactly what to expect.

When a Job Is Flagged with a Motion & Order Task

  1. Client Request for Server Appointment

    • If you’ve asked us to provide the server’s information so the court can appoint them, we will:

      • Collect the necessary details from the server.

      • Flag the job with an M&O flag.

      • Notify the server:

“This job is on hold until you are appointed. Please acknowledge.”

    • Service will not begin until the appointment is confirmed.

  1. No Appointment Request from Client

    • If your instructions don’t ask for server information, our team will:

      • Review the job documents to see if you’ve already provided a list of court-appointed servers.

      • Confirm that the server who claimed the job is on the approved list.

    • If the server is not on the list and no appointment request is required, the task will be cleared so your case can proceed without delay.

What This Means for You

  • Clear Communication: You’ll always know whether a job is on hold for court appointment or cleared to move forward.

  • Compliance Guaranteed: We ensure only approved servers are handling service in Missouri, protecting your case from rejection or delays.

  • Efficiency First: If no appointment is needed and no server list is provided, we take the initiative to clear the task and keep your case moving.
